Abstract:
To this day, the vast majority of cotton fabrics are colored with synthetic dyes such as
reactive, acid, and other similar dyes, all of which are typically not kind to the
environment. Beta Vulgaris was used as a bio-based dye to color cotton fabrics that
were part of this research project. In the dyeing tests, metal salts, including Alum Al2
(SO4)3, Copper sulphate (CuSO4), Zinc Sulphate (ZnSO4), and Ferrous Sulfate
(FeSO4), were utilized in an effort to strengthen the coloring process. We also
examined the color fastness capabilities of all of the colored samples by subjecting
them to various conditions such as washing, rubbing, and perspiration. The outcomes
match one's expectations. The findings of the dying process and the experiments
indicated that the performance of dye ability of the cotton fibers with Beta Vulgaris
may be considerably influenced by the type of mordant that was used and the manner
that was used to apply it.
