The Virtual Court has played a crucial role in updating Bangladesh, by extending the country’s
judicial system and make better access to justice, at the time of the Covid-19 pandemic. Virtual
Court System means the uses of online platform for judicial system. Nevertheless, in recent
decades, the judicial system has become the most significant issue across the world as well as
in Bangladesh. Judiciary, the backbone of every country’s constitution. In every continent, it
is an alarming issue to settle every case in a short time for proper justice. The E-judiciary
system is a core solution for improving the judicial system and providing the fastest access to
justice. United Nation Development programme (UNDP) came forward to address the
establishment of Virtual Courts. The Virtual Courts were established in many countries around
the world, for example, the UK, India, China, France etc. However, the digitalization of courts
in Bangladesh started back in 2009 with goal of removing backlog cases, making the justice
system swift and also ensure access to justice. Despite having Act, rules and the tremendous
success of e-judiciary in Bangladesh at the time of Covid-19, several challenges as relevant-
internet connection, including the lack of training and technical knowledge of the court officers
etc. Still, Virtual Procedure in Bangladesh is far crying issue due to lack of fastest internet
connection in every place of a country, high speed technology where negligence was present
in related for proper implementation of laws. Therefore, this study will mainly focus on finding
out why the Virtual court procedure degradation occur despite having an attendance of those
laws, rules. Furthermore, this Research is for the analysis of the weaknesses and strengths of
Virtual Court. In conclusion, this study provides some specific recommendations for the future
challenges facing the judiciary. |
